Pict Estúdio | GO OUTSIDE OUTSIDE EDITION

This project took us to our limit. Or, at least, very close to it.

The mission: to bring the full weight of the GO OUTSIDE magazine's name, a global reference in outdoor activities, to its special edition. For this, we couldn't just sit on a stool. And we didn't. Along with a team of journalists from the publication, we traveled to five countries and produced the magazine entirely away from home. Each story was born and came to life in the moment everything happened - in the desert, on the road, in the forest, under the rain, or below zero. A huge challenge brought to us by Talent Marcel, a challenge accepted and delivered. Join us in reading about the entire project and experience a bit of this adventure too.

Stepping out of our comfort zone is a regular reality here at PICT.
Every day is a novelty, and we are always experimenting with new tools. In this project, we took it to the maximum. For each story, a different place, a different activity, a different outcome. And, as usual, we were involved from the very beginning.

We designed a bag especially for this project.
Hand-sewn, it is divided into different
compartments and can carry all the material
needed for the work we did outdoors.

GOOD MISTAKES

Usually, errors are not welcomed in editorial projects. Here, they were our greatest allies. All the articles were executed in the moment, in the heat, or in the cold of the moment. On top of a rock or in the desert at five thousand meters of altitude. A blot turns into a mark; a blurred illustration, a painting; a twig or brush, a drawing tool. That was the essence of the project: the magazine should live each article.

INSTANT PHOTOGRAPHY

As the edition was executed on-site, all photographs were taken with an instant camera, our faithful companion. Its images and technical limitations became integral elements of the project, serving as composition and illustration for the stories. In total, over 800 instant clicks were developed on the spot and in the moment.

FROM THE ORIGINAL
TO SUBSCRIBERS

We reproduced the entire magazine, emphasizing every small and rich detail, from the relief of collages to the marks lived by each page. 1,000 copies were printed on special paper.
